So, who am I? It’s an important question to ask when you are looking for a counsellor – it’s absolutely crucial that you take your time to find the right person. Someone you feel safe and comfortable with and connected to -because let’s face it, coming to see a counsellor can be scary.
In short, I’m Jocelyn. I have a cosy little therapy room in Chorlton, near Manchester - where I practice Person Centred Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and where the kettle is always on.
I started training in person centred therapy over 12 years ago and have years of experience working with all kinds of people who are striving to understand themselves and these complicated lives that we are all living. I don’t think I will ever get over how much courage it takes to reach out for help at a time of crisis, and I am always blown away at the strength and resilience of the human mind. I genuinely believe that we all have the potential to grow and heal and that counselling works to facilitate this process empowering you to find a happier way forward.
I offer open-ended, person centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy with a warm, genuine and non-judgemental attitude in a completely safe space. I am committed to helping you work towards your goals and face what needs to be faced, at your own pace, one session at a time. I work with individuals of all ages, including young people from the age of 12.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such, I am bound by their ethical framework.
When not in my therapy room you can probably find me on my bicycle or under a tree somewhere with a cup of tea.
